This seminar introduces students to key concepts and perspectives in political philosophy by examining how they relate to pressing public policy debates. Topics include judicial review, equality of opportunity in education, hate speech, and freedom of expression. By focusing on real-world issues, students will gain a deeper understanding of philosophical concepts, theories, and analytical tools through their practical application to contemporary political controversies.Discussions will be grounded in the course text: Introducing Political Philosophy: A Policy-Driven Approach by Andrew Walton et al. (Oxford University Press 2021).
